Hi Carl, Nice engine and track. Is your track American Models or "American S-Gauge Track"?

american classic track

The S-gauge club in Atlanta uses the latter.

Some American Models motive power. We may not have as big of selection as O gauge, but it is still a great time to be in S!

Hi Mike,
I was wondering what the mimimum radius the GG1 will handle. I have been looking to get into S gauge and have had my eye on the AM GG1. It looks like you are using S-helper track? Would love to see more pics of your overall setup. I will have to run on the floor as well, since my current layout is O gauge. This would be great to run on the floor and have my 5 month old watch the trains go around with me. I have Legacy as well, so to set it up on 2-rail is pretty easy? I saw the Big Boy at York and it looks nice. Thanks again in advance.

The GG1 will go around standard American Flyer 20 inch radius track. It will look better on wider radius though.

I currently just have a loop of S-Helper track on the floor. I just started using this track and so far I like it a lot. My only concern is how it will hold up being taken apart and put together multiple times. I usually only have a look of track up for a couple weeks at a time before having to take it down for one reason or another.

I use Legacy with a TPC 300 and my 19B transformer. Hook up is just as simple as O gauge. The only annoying thing is for non-command engines, the bell and whistle functions may be reversed depending on what direction you place the locomotive on the track.

Great idea on posting our train shots here. However, you need to have your own website to be able to have photos show up since the forum doesn't allow attachments... or does it?

Even though I'm late to the party... this is a GREAT idea! Good thinking drummer3!

Good pics all!

Maybe I can use this thread to motivate me to get more done on my S scale models/layout. (I can but hope!)

Anyhoo... I'll start off with some pics that are a few weeks old... but still... it's S scale!

First up: A fairly recent pic of my layout progress. (My layout depicts an industrial district in KC back in the mid-60's.)

Next is an American Models Baldwin that I am reworking. It will eventually be DCC/Sound equipped.

Last is an SHS SW9 I painted/decaled/weathered to become a Frisco unit. I finished this up last month:

All for this go around!

Great photos! Please continue, I'm considering switching from O to S. One reason is the ridiculous "gap" on the swinging pilots.
