My guess is like me they were bought for the E6 Atlantic but IMO are too heavy for that engine. That's just my opinion. I have 5 of them and the Atlantic seems to struggle. They are beautiful cars though and behind the right engine will make a great train.

I think the set was for #3157 Northern? I have the set and it is nice. The station sounds diner is neat to play with. Lionel has run this set in several catalogs now. I believe they had done a similar SF set just a year or so before this set, and I suppose they have not been able to sell this follow up set; not enough demand. At $450, it is a great buy.

Alan, I am Larry Levin, Clarksville, Tn, and I think in the past that I have purchased some Atlas O from you, maybe so, maybe not, either way your name sounds familiar to me. Either way, I want to buy these cars, the set. Please call me or email me at the address below my caption. My phone number is 931-801-3376. I thank thank you. If you get my answer machine, just leave your number and name and time I should call. Mark them SOLD!

Alan, This is a different set than the one published with the Santa Fe Northern in 2004, and the set of passenger cars had Lanterns on the observation car, do these???? Let me know. Thanks. Larry Levin (I do want this set if there are marker lights on the observation car.))
