How do you reply to someone specifically in a discussion or as them a question rather than your post/question going to the bottom of the discussion?

Thanks

paul

Paul,
Your post will always appear at the bottom of the discussion as the newest post.

But start your post by clicking on the quote button (the folder icon with double quote mark) at the bottom right of the post you want to respond to or question.

The text of that post will then appear in your new post so people know whom you are addressing. Just delete the references to photos first (if any) to make it easier on dial-up users who get bogged down by repeating photos.

Paul,

I think what you are asking is how to do reply without it appearing in the discussion? If so, you can click on the user name and it will show the users email address and you can send them an email.

Hope that helps!

Jonathan,
I think you interpreted Paul's question better than I did!

Paul,
The only problem you might run across is that many users do not have an email address listed in their Public Profile.

Jim,

I forgot that not everyone's email address is public. I can understand why with all the spam, but I have had great conversations off the forum with members via email.

That is what is so great about this group.

Paul - did either of us help you?

All the best,

Thanks Jonathan,

I've gone your route too by finding there email address but was trying to find out how to specifically respond to someone post. J Policastro pointed out the file folder with the quotes icon.

Thanks to you both!

Paul,

I should have known better because I think you emailed me not long ago about the MTH Blue Comet set!

Glad you got your answer.
