I would like to know how to add a video or a link to a video to a posting. I have a video in Windows Media Player format. I also have uploaded videos to Google which uses YOUTUBE for sharing.
When you are in YouTube and you can play your video, copy the URL (universal resource locater) from the top of the window. That is the web address that begins with "http://" etc. Then open a message box in the forum and press the "URL" button at the top of the window. Then you paste that URL into the "URL" dialog box and type in your Title for the link. Then click OK. Test your post to make sure it worked.
is there anyway to post the movie directly into the post? instead of a link, youtube offers an option to post the video directly, so that all one has to do is click on the play button and can watch the video IN the actual post, rather than having to link to the youtube site directly.
i have seen a few here on the forum able to do this ... unfortunately, i cant figure out the html code to accomplish this. does anyone have any suggestions?
I really don't see how you can do it. The only HTML codes that are accepted in the editor window are UBB codes.

Unfortunately you cannot embed a YouTube video within a post on this forum. That is because we have disabled "html" coding within forum posts. It would very easy for someone to embed harmful html code within a post that could compromise your computer without you even knowing it.
As popular as this forum is, we have to take a lot of precautions to prevent this kind of abuse. Disabling the use of html coding is just one of them.
