My only concern about the plated version would be getting fingerprints all over the thing while trying to handle it. I would probably want to wear a pair of cotton gloves for handling that monster.

I'm trying to imagine a string of plated passenger cars behind a plated Brute. Hopefully that set will come with sunglasses and sunblock.

I think Ives has that chrome engine with black and silver cars. Then the 3rd line can have the Flyer Mayflower. My future is so bright I think Iam gonna need shades. If the Chromate Brute non-powered ends up on blowout for $1000. I will make shelf space for it. To me the best looking one. You can even see the wheels.

That is a good thought. Where can you get those cotton gloves? I try not to get finger prints on my tinplate but I think the gloves would work well.

Keep in mind that the original was plated by Bill Vagell decades after this engine was built, and only then to stabilize the corrosive process, which had already damaged the engine. The ORIGINAL color was the light state green.

Here's a link to one place, but I imagine you can also find them locally at places that might stock items for archivists and museum curators. http://apps.webcreate.com/ecom...D=15&ProductID=23329

I believe that the Brutes were built to order...I don't expect to see any blowouts. Some dealers may have speculated on one--I don't think these will last long. Scott Smith
