Hello! I have #104 standard gauge bridge with repro #100 approaches. Can anyone describe or show with a diagram how to assemble these without having the track become a "see-saw"? It seems that the incline is a bit sharp. I'm using new track with four ties each, and of course they don't line up. Does the old sectional track have three ties? Should the ties fit into the slots of the road bed? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I placed a 3/8" shim under the low end end of the ramp, and put gradually thinner shims under the ties of the first section of track to bring it down to "level". This took a lot of the bite out of the ramp, greatly lessening the see-saw. It also eliminated the early long cow-catchers from shorting out on the center rail, greatly reduced accidental uncouplings and smoothed out the running of all engines and cars crossing the bridge.
The track ties do fit in the recesses on the bridge and approaches. While something could be jury-rigged to use other tie spacing, to be correct you do need three tie track. If you can't find old track, you might call EBR Products (856-456-7866) and see if they would make up the three sections of three-tie track you need. Or post a want on the buy/sell/trade board on this forum. Owen Collins |

Thanks, I thought I might have to use shims. I had wanted to put rubber feet on the ramps anyway, that could work like shims. I can't see my 400e going over this thing the way it is.
