I was wondering if anyone has any word on these two companys? It would be great if these two companies got together. Just wishful thinking.

I have a feeling we are not going to see any new Marx products until someone else buys the rights.

New Marx: Sad to see it go. Their return has been debated a couple times on this site, but I couldn't locate the thread I wanted in which Alan Miller, I believe it was, offerred the opinion that we probably will not see Marx tin manufactured again.

FauxToys: As you most likely know, their website says they are closed, hopefully to reopen in "mid-2008." But I placed an order last October which hasn't been filled yet; nor have my 10 emails requesting status been answered or acknowledged. So I wouldn't hold my breath for them either.

AmeriTrains?

To the best of my knowledge: Dead! Kaput! Belly-up! There may be some new old stock still available, but nothing really new has been offered for a long, long time. Not sure if they even have a web presence these days.

The AmeriTrains/MarxTrains website lingered on for months after they closed up shop. Someone took down the index (home) page, but left all the directories with the pictures, etc. in place for a long time. I kept photos of the pieces that interested me (still have them), but didn't get through everything available before the entire site finally disappeared.

The marxtrains.com domain name is still registered (w/contact info) to AmeriTrains.

Any estimate on how much $$ the tooling would be worth if still intact? If you weren't going to make trains with it, why on earth wouldn't you sell it? I'd love to see Marx trains rise from the grave for another round.
