Does anyone know if there is a Maker of EARLY LIONEL TINPLATE TROLLEY PEOPLE of the Paper or Composition type . I know that JLM makes a Set of twelve for $125.00 in Cold Cast Porcelian [I believe].

You might check JLM Trains again. Not certain, but I think they are paper mache/composition.

I too am interested in acquiring some trolley figure reproductions for the repro Lionel "Summer Trolleys". A check of JLM's website showed NO trolley figures. Confused

I believe the originals were made of a hand-painted paper mache type material.

I should mention that the TROLLEY FIGURES that Joseph L Mania are made from Molds taken { I believe } from Original Pieces. I also believe they are Hand Painted. The reason I don`t know exactaly is I haven`t Ordered a Set yet, though i intend to later. I have though on order the LIONEL SUMMER TROLLEY SET from 1913.

Yes, we have them available at $10 each or $100 a dozen. The molds were made from originals and the reproductions are cast in polyester resin with the same weight and texture of the original composition figures. They are hand painted and all three types of figures are available (2 different male and one female.
I'll try and get them up on the website soon.

One question:

Did Lionel also make similar figures with "nubs" on their bottoms to insert into the holes in the seats in Lionel's larger standard gauge passenger cars? Confused
